Stephanie Butler, LMHC, offering in-person therapy in Shalimar, FL and virtually throughout Florida and New hampshire.

I want to help you transform your life and get back to living it.

Therapy focused on finding answers, giving hope, and cultivating change.

No, it doesn’t have to be “like this” forever.

I work with people who are worried things are always going to feel this way—that they’re always going to be gripped by anxiety, depression, or a painful past. They’re used to being able to figure things out on their own, but this has them stumped…and they worry that means they’re stuck there for good.

Maybe you’ve been to therapy before and are frustrated with the lack of results (not to mention hesitant to try it again). Maybe you haven’t, but your doctor simply wrote you a prescription that doesn’t seem to be helping.

Wherever you find yourself today, I want you to know this: change is possible.

My style

Therapy with me is…

  • I have advanced training in therapy methods that go beyond simply talking about your problems and expecting them to be fixed.

  • I believe therapy should be a two-way street. That means asking questions, making observations, and challenging you when I see opportunities for growth, not simply nodding, smiling, and taking a few notes. I’m in this with you.

  • I respect your time, energy, experiences, and perspectives. Mental health issues are not moral failures. I will always treat you with dignity, maintaining the utmost professionalism and discretion you deserve.

  • I have over 15 years of experience doing this work and I keep my caseload small and focused in order to give you the best support possible. If we work together, it’s because I’m confident I have the skills and expertise necessary to help you experience change. If I’m not the right person to do that, I will always get you to someone who can.

  • I’m not here to simply tell you what you want to hear or waste your time, so I will always be honest and straightforward with you. I’m also not trying to keep you in therapy for longer than you need it. I want to help you feel better and then move on from therapy with the skills and insight you need to stay that way.

An important note from me

Whatever you’re bringing to the table: it’s welcome here.

You should feel like your therapist is equipped to handle whatever you are experiencing. My training and experience focus on complex, layered issues—not just the surface.

When we work together, I want you to know you can bring anything into the room and I will walk with you through it.
